Mentorship Program
The purpose of the Marist Mentor Program is to establish a one-on-one relationship between junior and senior members of the Marist football program and successful Marist football alumni in the student-athlete’s chosen field of study.
All junior and senior team members in good academic and athletic standing are invited to be part of the program. After student-athletes are matched up with their mentors, they meet in the fall of the student-athlete’s junior year following a football game. From there, the communication is by any method that fits both parties best.
The mentor helps introduce the player to what life is like in his chosen field – including financial information, advancement opportunity, changes occurring in the field and several other topics. Mentors have been able to set up internships, arrange interviews, and in some cases help lead student-athletes to jobs.
We are looking for alumni who have mentorship opportunities for current players. If you do, please email Marc Gasperino at mgasperino@icloud.com for more information.
